ANNA MARIA ISLAND City of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, and neighboring Village of Cortez and Perico Island Anna Maria Island, Manatee County, Florida, is located on Florida's west coast, 40 miles south of Tampa and seven miles west of Bradenton. The island can be accessed by SR64, over the Manatee Avenue Bridge, SR684 over the Cortez Bridge or a third bridge from Longboat Key to the south. Stretching 7 1/2 miles from Tampa Bay south to Longboat Key Pass, Anna Maria Island is surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico on the west, Tampa Bay to the north and Anna Maria Island Sound on the east and Sarasota Bay to the south. The island consists of three cities: Anna Maria population 1876, Bradenton Beach population 2000 and Holmes Beach population 5040. Average High Temperature 81 degrees F. Average Low Temperature 68 degrees F. Average Total Rainfall 37.6 inches.
